One day Ananda, who had been thinking deeply about things for a while,
turned to the Buddha and exclaimed: "Lord, I've been thinking-
spiritual friendship is at least half of the spiritual life!" The
Buddha replied: "Say not so, Ananda, say not so. Spiritual friendship
is the whole of the spiritual life!"

Friendship with everyone, everything, our friendship with our souls and our souls' friendship with Spirit.
One of my favorite quotes from sacred texts is this:
"Strong One, make me strong.
May all beings look on me with the eye of friend!
May I look on all beings with the eye of friend!
May we look on one another with the eye of friend!"

Friendship is also called "Christ Consciousness" among the Christian Mystics, as it is the ability to see God (Universal Consciousness) within all Creatures.. And to see and feel God is to see and feel Love.........namaste, thomas
