Changes in the functioning of man's mind could bring about such
complete changes in his sense of time that he could veritably find
himself imbued with the sense of eternity. This continuous flux of time
which to us seems to go on forever, to them is but an illusion produced
by the succession of our thoughts. For them, there is only the Eternal
